What to wear to Oktoberfest (if you're not wearing Tracht)
Not everyone owns a Dirndl or Lederhosen. Here's how to look festival-ready, stay warm in the beer garden and still be comfortable at midnight.

Oktoberfest, Cannstatter Wasen and the many smaller Volksfeste are a big part of autumn in Germany. Traditional Tracht is beautiful, but plenty of people go in their own clothes, and that's completely fine.
1. Start with a warm base
September evenings in Munich can drop below 10 °C. A heavyweight hoodie keeps you warm in the beer garden without the bulk of a coat, and it won't mind the odd splash.
2. Add one festival detail
A crest, a check pattern or a warm brown tone instantly feels seasonal. Our Festhaus Hoodie was made exactly for this.
3. Bring a layer for the walk home
- A quilted jacket packs small and keeps the wind out
- Dark colours hide spills best
- Comfortable shoes matter more than anything else
4. Keep it simple
Two or three pieces in calm colours look better in photos than a full costume. Mix navy, brown and cream and you're done.
